Part time Sales Support internship, Mill Valley

We have an opening for a part time summer intern to assist our Sales team with multiple in-house projects. The primary focus of this internship will be to research and spearhead sales efforts into boutique, resort and surf accounts. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
• Locating, researching, compiling, and evaluating lists of potential customers such as high-end boutiques, resorts, spas & surf stores in predefined target areas.
• Developing direct marketing strategies including telephone, e-mail marketing, direct mail, internet and other marketing avenues.
• Generating and following up on wholesale customer leads in partnership with our independent sales agencies.
• Aiding our in-house marketing, design, production, finance and customer service teams as necessary with other projects as they arise.
This position is ideal for a business student who wants to get hands-on experience in the outdoor, action sports or apparel industries and add a professional reference to their resume.
Qualifications
• A college or graduate student in business, economics or engineering
• Outgoing, friendly, excellent interpersonal communication skills, comfortable making cold calls
• Strong follow through, ability to work independently and efficiently
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to contribute however necessary
• Good office and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of MSOffice (Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Experience with Quickbooks appreciated
• Passion for surf, outdoor, water or other sports
Daily working hours and internship period can be flexible, although we are looking for approximately 16 hours per week and commitment of at least two months starting in May or June. Salary is $15/hour.

We are growing rapidly, and are looking for great sales reps to join our existing team. This is an opportunity to start with a dynamic and proven successful brand.
Open territories Include:
- Mid-Atlantic: NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC
- Florida
- Eastern Great Lakes: OH, Lower MI, IN, KY
Responsibilities include:
- Manage, support and grow business within outdoor, boutique and action sports accounts throughout the territory
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans designed to grow Carve sales in the territory
- Develop relationships with key retailers to grow the brand’s position and market share at retail
- Anticipate industry trends and apply those insights to create new business opportunities
- Achieve company objectives in merchandising, product positioning, account coverage and administration
- Represent Carve at regional and national trade shows as well as relevant local events
- Schedule and complete shop demos and clinics to expand Carve knowledge within dealer base
- Provide timely communication with Carve headquarters and completion of requested tasks
Requirements include:
- 3+ years experience in apparel sales (wholesale and/or retail)
- Existing relationships with account base across the territory
- Strong understanding of the surf, outdoor, and/or boutique market, trends and business requirements
- Strong communication, negotiating and organizational skills
- Ability to schedule and meet seasonal deadlines
- Ability to attend national and regional trade shows and two company sales meetings per year
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required depending on experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
- Personal passion for the outdoors, surf or water sports
